Hunting and Wildlife Program was established in 2019 within the Forestry Department of Iğdır University Vocational School of Technical Sciences. The program has started to accept students in the 2021-2022 academic year. |
Qualification Awarded |
According to the Higher Education Law, in order to be successful in Department of Forestry, Hunting and Wildlife Program, 120 ECTS credits must becompleted. When the first condition of the program is successfullycompleted and the other qualifications of the program are met, the students get associate Degree in Hunting and Wildlife. |

Profile of The Programme |
With this knowledge and experience, students who graduated from the Hunting and Wildlife Program;
• Absorbs the concepts of hunting and wildlife and can observe the balance between these two concepts.
• Can make management planning of human activities to be planned in any Wildlife area.
• Recognize the living groups living in a wildlife area and make an inventory.
• Knows the legal situations related to hunting and hunting and can follow the implementation stages in the field.
• It can identify and evaluate the possible effects of a business that is planned to be established in a wildlife area on wildlife and offer solutions.
• Can plan and manage a hunting activity in a hunting area in terms of time and space.
• It can collect information about the biological and ecological status of wildlife elements and provide training to people of all education levels.
• It can monitor the game animals, target, and key species in the wildlife area and keep their records in accordance with the relevant institutions.
• Can work in research and development projects related to wildlife elements. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Graduates who successfully complete the Hunting and Wildlife Associate Degree Program of the Department of Forestry are employed as "Wildlife Technician" and "Forest Conservation Officer" in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and in provincial organizations in all provinces. In addition, they can work in environmental consultancy firms as consultants to energy companies operating on natural resources. They may also manage game management and monitoring activities in private and state-owned hunting grounds. |
Access to Further Studies |
Students who graduate from here can transfer to undergraduate programs who get the predicted score from the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Exams are evaluated as written, oral, homework, project or laboratory work according to the quality of the course. In evaluating exams; one midterm and one final exam per lesson. The contribution of the exams to the success grade is 70% midterm exam and 30% final exam. |
Graduation Requirements |
Students coming to the program are required to take 120 ECTS (ECTS) courses in accordance with the Bologna criteria. Therefore, in the case of a graduate, a student must be successful in at least 120 ECTS courses and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.0. In addition, it is necessary to be successful in all compulsory courses (including internships) in the course curriculum. |
