Objectives of the Course
The purpose of this course, acquiring the basic skills of comprehension and expression, providing practice in reading and analyzing literary texts, teaching methods of composition that will be useful for writing a project or preparing a presentation.

1The definition and characteristics of language, language-culture relationship and the language property about culture carrier.
2Speech and written language.
3The historical development of Turkish language and Turkish Alphabets which were used.
4Reading and investigation of a work about Turkish language, Turkish literature and Turkish culture .
5Writing rules. Some additional wording and prepositions. Writing of Proper names, numbers, quoted words. Places where uppercase and lowercase letters are used.
6Writing rules. Punctuation marks, importance of punctuation marks for a language. Implementation of these signals on sample sentences.
7Words according to meaning. Meaning properties of words. Relations of meaning in words, the meaning changes. Embodiment.
8Interpretation and meaning of the sentence. News sentences, interrogative sentences and exclamation sentences.
9Interpretation and meaning of the sentence. News sentences, interrogative sentences and exclamation sentences.
10Paragraph. The basic idea in the paragraph, kinds of paragraph, the paragraph content, supporting ideas in the paragraph.
11Official correspondence. The petition, minutes, reports, business letters, reports. Application about this species.
12Elements of the sentence. Proper use of sentence elements in establishing a proper sentence.
13Ambiguity. Ambiguity in word level. Application on example texts.
14Ambiguity in sentence level.Examples of sentence level ambiguity from press and media organs.
