Objectives of the Course |
With the ArcMAP GIS software, it is aimed to comprehend the basic principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in terms of its definition and components, and to gain practical application skills for the use of its functions in the wildlife sector. |

Course Contents |
Basic concept, general principles, components, basic functions of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Basic concepts such as data-information, database operating system, spatial data, vector and raster data models, data quality. Digitization of paper maps, topology creation, query, spatial query, spatial analysis and digital map preparation. Generating TIN data, slope and aspect mapping. Introduction of Arc/Info GIS software and sample applications. |
