The Design Department was established in 2018 within Iğdır Technical Sciences Vocational School. The Design Department has Interior Design and Graphic Design Programs. The Interior Design Program of the department, which is closed to Graphic Design, started accepting students in the 2019–2020 Academic Year. |

Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to receive an Associate's Degree in Interior Design. Graduates of the program graduate with the title of "Interior Design Technician". |

It is necessary to be a high school graduate or equivalent school graduate and to be placed by obtaining the required score as a result of the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). |

Students who enroll in the program may be exempted from courses they have previously completed at higher education institutions. |
Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
Design Department – Interior Design Program students graduate from the program by successfully completing all compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS/ECTS credits) that they must take in the program. The internship period is 30 working days. It is mandatory to do an internship related to the field. |
Profile of The Programme |
The Interior Design program is an associate degree program consisting of 2 years of formal education. The program, which includes 4 semesters, includes a process consisting of theory, practice, workshops and projects. Students who meet the conditions for graduation from the program and are entitled to graduate receive an associate degree in the Interior Design program and are given the title of Interior Design technician. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Students who graduate from the Interior Design program can be employed as technicians, designers, authorized controllers, managers, production and planning officers, project personnel, and administrative assistants in interior architecture, architecture offices, businesses that design and produce furniture, construction and engineering offices, restoration companies, and decoration companies, and they can also open their own businesses. |
Access to Further Studies |
Those who successfully complete the associate degree program of the Department of Interior Design can continue their education in the following 4-year undergraduate programs if they receive sufficient points in the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted every year by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM): They can vertically transfer to undergraduate programs such as Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture, and Traditional Turkish Arts. |
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
In calculating the student's success grade, exams are evaluated as written, homework, project or laboratory work depending on the nature of the course. Evaluation of exams consists of one midterm exam and a final exam per course. The contribution of exams to the success grade is 40% midterm exam and 60% final exam. |
Graduation Requirements |
Students who come to the program are required to take 120 ECTS courses according to the Bologna criteria. Therefore, in order to graduate, a student must pass at least 120 ECTS courses and have a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0. In addition, all compulsory and elective courses (including internship) in the course curriculum must be successful. |

Facilities |
Interior Design Students can benefit from all kinds of social, scientific, cultural, artistic and sports activities offered by Iğdır University. Apart from this, there is a computer laboratory, theoretical classrooms and a design workshop. In addition, canteen services are provided within the Technical Sciences Vocational School. |
