Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete the Medical Imaging Techniques Program are entitled to receive an associate degree.
Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle)
Ön Lisans
Specific Admission Requirements
Medical Imaging Techniques Program; T.R. It accepts students according to the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT Score) score obtained as a result of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The students who come to the program by undergraduate transfer or receive education in other universities before are exempt from the courses that they took in these establishments and succeeded by the decision of the Board of Directors.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate from the Medical Imaging Techniques program, students must successfully complete all the courses, applications and internships (for a total of 120 ECTS) stipulated by the program and provide a general academic average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme
The program consists of 4 terms of 2 years. Education-teaching and research activities are provided by 2 Asst. Prof. Dr. and 1 Doctoral Instructor. Our annual quota is 40 students. The language of instruction is Turkish. The Medical Imaging Techniques Program begins its first semester with courses that introduce basic medical sciences such as anatomy and physiology, as well as introductory courses in physics and radiology. At the end of the second semester, there is a compulsory summer internship in the summer term. In the third and fourth semesters, the theoretical courses in which advanced imaging methods are taught are mainly carried out together with the hospital practice. Today, in line with technological and medical developments, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy departments have gained great importance in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The technicians we will train in the Medical Imaging Techniques Program will be trained in the field of Radiodiagnostics (Conventional and Digital Radiology, Fluoroscopy (Radioscopy), X-Ray, Digital Subtraction Angiography, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Mammography), which is used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, as well as Nuclear Medicine. (Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPECT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Hybrid Imaging (PET/CT; SPECT/CT) and Radiotherapy (Simulator, Linear Accelerators) etc.) It is aimed to have qualified technical staff who can apply the technology in the field, have the ability to synthesize information, use eye and hand coordination easily, and provide coordination with other health personnel. While using high-tech systems, they are trained to develop their ability to create high-quality images at the lowest radiation dose by ensuring radiation safety in these systems. Students do their practical applications in Iğdır Hospital Radiology Department, accompanied by experienced trainers and clinicians, in harmony with the development process. During the year, seminars and projects are prepared on various subjects and students are prepared for graduation.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program; They can work as a radiology technician in the Radiology units and Medical Imaging Centers of public and private inpatient and non-bedded treatment institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Health.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have completed their associate degree education can apply to undergraduate programs determined by ÖSYM by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by ÖSYM.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, practice exam, laboratory exam, seminar lecture, quiz, etc.) to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 60 points from the final exam. The passing grade point average is at least 60 and the success of the class is measured by the Relative Evaluation System. Students who get one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for the student to be successful in a course in which he received a DC or DD grade, his/her overall grade point average (OGPA) must be at least 2.00 in case of graduation. 90-100 AA 85-89 BA 80-84 BB 75-79 CB 70-74 CC 65-69 DC 60-64 DD 50-59 FD 49 and below FF
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and to successfully complete a 30-day internship at the end of the second year.
