History | Iğdır University Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Biochemistry, Iğdır University Rectorship of Faculty of Science and Literature, in accordance with the proposal for the opening of departments and branches of branches in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Law no. 2547 of Law no. 288, dated 2/08/2017 dated 02/08/2017 was established on the basis of the decision. | Qualification Awarded | "Biochemistry" or "WEIGHT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY CHEMISTRY" License is awarded. | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | To have a high school diploma. | Specific Admission Requirements | YDS test score the most lower limit to retained. | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish Higher Education institutions vertical, horizontal and internal within the university is determined by the Higher Education Council "HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS BETWEEN PRIMARY AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS BETWEEN INSTALLATION, DOUBLE ANATAL Is carried out within the scope of "REGULATION".
based on non-formal certification outside formal educational institutions in Turkey or based on experience (in-formal and non-formal) recognition of the learning process it is at an early stage. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | Students who have taken at least 142 credits (total 240 ECTS) from the courses offered in each of the two instructional programs in the education plan, who have at least a 2.0 GPA out of 4.00 and completed their internship in order to complete all the courses successfully. "Biochemist" or "Biotechnology Weighted Biochemist" receives one of the bachelor's degrees. | Profile of The Programme | Biochemistry is a branch of life sciences that focuses on studies to understand the mechanisms by which living organisms perform many functions in molecular detail. It is inherently interdisciplinary and is fundamental in every branch of life and biomedical sciences. It is a laboratory-based science that combines biology and chemistry. It covers a range of scientific disciplines including biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, forensic medicine, plant science and medicine. Biochemistry focuses on processes at the molecular level. It focuses on what is going on in our cells, and works on proteins, lipids and organelles. It also looks at how cells communicate with each other.
Biochemistry is one of the fastest growing sciences in our country, and as in every part of the world, in our country, medicine, pharmacology, agriculture, animal husbandry, industry, environmental sectors such as the serious impact. Because it addresses a wide range of areas, biochemistry is very important, and the progress made in this field over the last 100 years is surprising. Almost all biotechnological products are based on biochemistry knowledge.
The aim of the department is to educate the human resources equipped with entrepreneurial skills and to gain the necessary contribution in scientific and technological fields related to the life, physics, chemistry, biology, health sciences, nutrition and environmental events. For this reason, the Department of Biochemistry responds to this need for qualified manpower trained in the mentioned areas.
Biochemists can understand and solve biological problems using chemical knowledge and techniques. Biochemists can understand how the structure of a molecule is related to its functions and how its molecular interactions are and how it relates to its function. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Our graduates in general; Food, pharmaceutical, medical and chemical substances, pesticides, cosmetics and detergent industries, fermentation technology based industry branches, hospitals, universities, medical, agricultural and environmental research centers of research centers and research laboratories can take part. Graduates of the department stated in the business areas; They work as biochemist in the routine quality-control analysis, health-related tests, new method development studies and their implementation stage in the production processes or process. Since biochemistry establishes the connection between different branches, the diversity and prevalence of business areas are increasing. In addition, academic studies in the field of biochemistry and the possibility to participate in the training process. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Provides new ideas and experiences to understand how life works,
· Supports our understanding of health and disease,
