History | The Computer Engineering department was established in 2008 and started to admit students in the 2019-2020 academic year. | Qualification Awarded | The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the " Computer Engineering " title. | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | Turkish Nationals need to obtain a sufficient score in the MF-4 category of the nationwide University Entrance Examination administered by OSYM. International student admission is carried out according to the regulations set forth by the Registrar's Office. | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | If the student has taken some courses in an institution of higher education either within the country or abroad before starting the Departmental program, it may be possible to transfer these credits. The rules and procedures regarding this kind of transfer are as given in Igdir University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. (Link: https://www.igdir.edu.tr/y%C3%B6netmelikler) | Profile of The Programme | The Computer Engineering program aims to contribute to the production of science and technology, to train highly qualified engineers equipped with the knowledge and skills required by the age, with problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, and to support the technological development of our country with engineering activities carried out in cooperation with the industry. Computer engineering is a branch of engineering that is basically related to computer science, makes software, tests, analyzes, and designs in every subject that the computer can help with, and produces solutions for social, technological, scientific, and social issues. On the other hand, computer engineers take an active role in the design, installation, and development of software and hardware of computer systems. Determining the need for a computer network, evaluating the tender offers, preparing and providing the specifications in the institution, consulting computer companies, designing computer hardware, working on the data to be entered into the computer, working as a system programmer and analyzer, working on software are among the duties of computer engineers. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | The field of study of computer engineering is quite wide. It would not be wrong to answer the question of where a computer engineer works as working in almost every sector of the business world. Computer engineers are needed in the telecommunication world, entertainment industry, banking, education sector, public sector, and all kinds of commercial companies. In addition, this need is constantly increasing in our age where technology is developing with great steps. Although the main working areas of this engineering branch are divided into four; hardware, software, systems, and network, business analyst, web designer, software design specialist, bank manager, hardware engineering, control engineering, graphic design and drawing, network and internet expertise, configuration management, data There is a wide range of work in architecture, data analytics, robotics engineering and many more. A computer engineer can be a Database Manager, R&D, Software Development, System Designer and Analyst, Management, Information Security Specialist, Mobile Application Development, System Engineering, Business Analysis Specialist, Sales, Entrepreneurship, etc. can work in many fields. | Access to Further Studies | Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in postgraduate programs. Qualifications Framework for European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA): 2-3 European Qualifications Framework- Life Long Learning (EQF-LLL): 7-8 | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | The assessment methods for each course have been given in the relevant "course information package" prepared by the instructor(s). Examinations and grading are carried out in accordance with Igdir University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. All students studying at the Computer Engineering Department of Iğdır University are obliged to do an internship for a total of 40 working days in 2 separate terms during their 4-year education.
