Igdir University Vocational School Foreign Trade Program was established in 1998 and began taking students in the academic year of 1998-1999.

Specific Admission Requirements |
The studentents are placed to the programs of Igdir Vocational School with central Placement Test by SSPC. With the central placing, the cadidates are placed by the SSPC, according to YGS scores, their preferences, vacancy and requirements of the program. The students placed in the Foreign Trade program are enrolled by the registrar's office due to schedule determined by SSPC.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their educaiton to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Igdir University and hence of the Department is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. |
Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
As mentioned in "Igdir University Undergraduate and Graduate Courses in Higher Education Regulation", the students must succed and get an average at least 2.0 out of 4.0 from all the courses except the "YÖK" courses which must also be succeeded. Profile of The Programme |
Igdir University of Foreign Trade Program is continued as the theoretical and practical training period of 2 years. The courses in the first and second semester of the educational process consists of the basic lectures in the areas of maths, law, economics, business, foreign trade, international marketing, international economic institutions, office programs and accounting. In the third and fourth semester includes work specialization lectures on customs procedure, international economics, logistics, labour and social security law, professional foreign language, free zones, Turkey and the European Union economy, banking and foreign exchange transactions, international finance, electronic commerce, standardization in foreign trade, professional correspondence techniques, communication, research methods and techniques, software packages. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Foreign Trade Program graduates can find jobs in all kinds of businesses such as business enterprises engaged in foreign trade, foreign exchange departments of banks, as well as customs brokers, international logistics companies. If succeeded in the exam, the students taking B-card can work as "Customs Deputy Consultant".

Access to Further Studies |
Transfer to the Undergraduate Education and all sort of exams and placement procedures of the students graduated from the associate degree programmes are all carried out by SSPC according to the principles determined by the Board of Higher Education and the Regulation published in Official Gazette No. 24676 dated 19.02.2002 of Graduates of Vocational Schools Regulation on the continuation of Undergraduate Education. Examinations,assessment and evaluation of these examinations are carried out in accordance with the "Regulation of Igdir University Associate-Udergraduate Education and Examinations".

Foreign Trade Programme, which is completed with a total of 120 ECTS successfully completed all courses and the internship, the students must have at least 2.00 out of 4.00 weighted grade point average required to achieve. |
