Objectives of the Course

At the end of this course, students will be able to; get an idea of how to apply the principles of the economy to determine the causes, consequences and ways of coping with natural resources and environmental problems; Acquires knowledge and skills to use economic concepts to analyze problems related to natural resource use and policies.

1	understand basics principles behind the economic approach to environmental and natural resource problems
2	understand techniques for analyzing environmental problems including non-market valuation methods
3	use of graphical tools to study environmental problems
4	interpret a newspaper article about an environmental problem with an economic point of view
5	build self-confidence through discussions and problem solving practices in class
6	have necessary skills for making research, analysis and synthesis through writing term papers
7	be more aware of environmental problems of the world today
