Objectives of the Course
Recognition of physiological, psychosocial and spiritual problems in the patient and her family who need palliative care in the palliative care process, and the care process, to gain the necessary knowledge and skills in the application of effective coping methods with the bereavement period.

1Will be able to explain the concept, purpose and principles of palliative care.
2Will be able to plan evidence-based nursing care for symptom control in palliative care.
3Will be able to list the basic principles related to the management of the symptoms seen in the patient in the palliative process.
4Will be able to gain nursing approaches for the psychosocial and spiritual problems experienced by the patient and his family in the palliative and end-of-life process.
5Determines the needs of the individual receiving palliative care and her/his family.

Course Contents
The student who takes the course learns wound care, approach to the patient with pain, pre- and post-operative care, hot-cold applications, planning care for the inpatient in the clinic, diagnosing nursing, and practices.
