Objectives of the Course
To teach the pre-operative, postoperative and post-operative nursing care and practices of the patient whose treatment is planned surgically. In addition, the physical structure of the operating room, traffic and movement in the operating room, the materials used in the operating room, sterilization, disinfection and asepsis principles are adopted. To teach the duties and responsibilities of the operating room team and the roles and duties of the operating room nurse within the team.

1information; • To know the design and physical features of the operating room and areas • To know the roles and responsibilities of the operating room nurse • To be able to plan patient care according to the operation and anesthesia types in the early postoperative period.
2Skill; • Washing and dressing according to the surgical asepsis rules • Opening sterile materials and packs in the operating room, preparing the materials • Being able to perform nursing practices during the operation • Counting the postoperative materials and ensuring their cleaning and sterilization under appropriate conditions
3Behaviour; • To enable the health professionals working in the surgical unit to develop behaviors in accordance with their place in the health team, their relations with the team, their duties, authorities and responsibilities.
