Objectives of the Course
To provide students with knowledge and skills on the management and education of individuals with diabetes based on first, second and third prevention, and to gain insight into national and international developments in diabetes nursing.

Course Contents
Basic concepts in diabetes nursing, roles and responsibilities of diabetes nurses and team approach, epidemiology and importance of diabetes, current diagnostic approaches in diabetes, diabetes treatment; oral antidiabetic drugs, diabetes treatment; insulin therapy and its applications, medical nutrition therapy and healthy nutrition approaches in diabetes, acute and chronic complications in diabetes and nursing care, education of diabetic patients and their relatives, diabetes prevention strategies / national and international programs.
