Details of insect characters. Body wall - its structure, cuticular outgrowths, special integumentary structure. Insect colouration. Body regions, sclerites, segmentation. Head and its structure and sutures-types of insect head in various groups. Mouth parts in insects, their modification, special types. Thorax, its structure, segmentation, sclerites, modification. Wings, evolution development, venation, modification and their function, articulation with thoracic muscles. Abdomen, segmentation, appendages, genitalia and their modification and function. Sense organs in various parts of the insect body, their structure and function.
