Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to enable the students to understand and comment the complex interactions between agriculture and environmental problems and to improve the capacity to generate ideas to solve the problems and to share ideas with related stake-holders.

Learning Outcomes
1The student gains the capacity to understand the interrelations between agricultural production and the environment. The student learns and recognizing the main causes for environmental pollution, the ability to learn the symptoms on plants caused by emissions in form of gases and particulates and differentiating them from symptoms caused by the living organisms.The student gains the ability to improve ideas to solve environmental problems and the ability for making suggestions to the producers.The student gains the chance for working in the govermental or private institutions as experts.The student gains the oppurtunity to be involved in the projects related with environmental problems, to prepare reports, or to assess the reports prepared by others.

Course Contents
Agriculture and environmental problems; definitions, general information on the actual status of such problems in the world and in Turkey.• Main pollution sources and types of pollution in terms of the environment as the receiver.• Effect of air, water and soil pollution on the agricultural and natural eco-systems.• Environmental problems cuased by the agricultural activities.• To give projects to the students on the selected items for preparation and presentation during the course.• General assessment of the course.
