Objectives of the Course
Deformation properties of building materials is very important in choosing and using materials. Hence, behaviour of building materials must be comprehensively explained. In this course it is aimed to give basic information about material behaviour.

Requirement for materials science / Mechanical behavior of solid materials / Ideal materials and mechanical models / State of Stress / State of strain, Constitutive Equations / Rheological Models/ Plastic Behavior: Plastic strains, Dislocations / Fracture criteria: Tresca criterion, Von Mises criterion and the Griffith criterion.
