Objectives of the Course
The principal aim of the lecture is the description of the European Union which plays an important role concerning the creation of the Turkish foreign policy. In this frame the origin, organs and common politics of the EU are analysed. Then the history of the Turkish-European relations is also closely scrutinized.

Course Contents
After the origin, development and institutions of the EU are rehearsed, the common policy areas of the Union are studied. In the last part of the lecture are discussed the process of development of the relations between Turkey and the EU, as well as the perception of the EU in Turkey and the consideration of the Turkish entry question in the EU countries.
