Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to have students understand the importance of maps in environmental applications, and to introduce map variants, and ways to utilization them.

1	To recognize the basic elements of the map
2	To recognize the types of map
3	To learn the methods of preparation of various physical (geology, geomorphology, climate, hydrography, soils and vegetation), Humanities (population, settlement) and economic (agricultural, mining, transport, industry and tourism) maps
4	To interpret of various thematic maps
5	To perform applications such as restricting the basin, slope, length, area computation on the maps
6	To use the maps prepared for a variety of purposes
