Active participation in in-class discussions, conducting case study analyses, and engagement in practical activities aimed at preparing risk management plans will significantly support the learning process. In addition, reviewing academic studies and official reports related to sport accidents, emergency management, and insurance practices will contribute to students’ ability to link theoretical knowledge with practice. | | Course Contents | | Within the scope of this course, the concepts of risk and risk management in sport are examined, and physical, legal, financial, organizational, and managerial risk types that may be encountered in sport environments are analyzed, with a focus on the fundamental stages of the risk management process, including risk identification, analysis, evaluation, prevention, and control. Throughout the course, issues related to the safety of athletes, spectators, and staff; sources of risk in sport facilities; maintenance, inspection, and supervision processes; risk planning in sport organizations and sporting events; and pre- and post-event risk assessments are addressed. In addition, emergency and crisis management, fire, natural disasters, and medical emergencies, sport accidents and legal liabilities, insurance and risk transfer methods, ethical principles and ethical decision-making processes, as well as health risks and preventive approaches in sport are evaluated. The course also examines current national and international risk management practices and best practice examples, aiming to transfer theoretical knowledge into practice through case study analyses and the preparation of risk management plans, followed by an overall evaluation. | | Weekly Detailed Course Contents | |
