Objectives of the Course

The aim is to enable students taking the course to learn about Turkey's societal structure and issues throughout historical processes, facilitating a more accurate analysis of contemporary Turkey.

Learning Outcomes

1	To acquire knowledge about the general characteristics of Turkish society and the sociological and historical factors influencing these characteristics;
2	To be able to evaluate the common and unique outcomes of various societal processes such as politics, culture, and economy within the context of Turkish society;
3	To assess the reflections of comprehensive societal transformations brought about by modernization in Turkish society;
4	To address contemporary social issues relevant to Turkish society from the broad perspective provided by sociology.
5	To understand the reasons and consequences of rapid changes occurring in Turkish society, especially as influenced by the process of globalization.
