Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with a general and comprehensive introduction to the discipline of psychology. At the end of the course, it is aimed for students to develop understanding skills for the main concepts and theories of psychology, as well as the scientific examination of mental and behavioral processes.

Learning Outcomes
1They think as both a scientist and a psychologist.
2They distinguish between different psychological approaches.
3They analyze psychological problems from the perspective of different psychological approaches.
4They follow several evaluation steps when investigating a particular psychological research hypothesis.
5They accumulate knowledge about theories and research regarding the normal and abnormal functioning of the brain, senses, and mind, and develop habits of critical inquiry on relevant topics.

Course Contents
In this course, students will learn how to look at different perspectives of psychology to solve problems from each perspective. Primary topics include testing psychological research hypotheses and mind-body relationship theories. This course covers research methods, physiological foundations of behavior, brain and behavior, sensation and perception, states of consciousness, learning, memory, language and intelligence. Students will be asked to use critical thinking skills to understand and analyze the problems around them. In other words, they will gain practice in asking rational questions about human nature.
