Objectives of the Course |
To learn about the religious, political and cultural histories of the Umayyads, Andalusian Umayyads, Abbasids, Fatimids, to comprehend the Islamization process of the Turks and the political, social, economic and cultural histories of the Muslim Turkish states established in history. |

Learning Outcomes |
1 | 1. Evaluates the transition period of the Islamic world to the reign, the political and cultural history of the Umayyad and Abbasid states. 2. Solves the problems of today's Islamic world in perceiving and understanding, based on historical experiences. 3. Comprehends how power struggles among Muslims lead to social problems and divisions, establishes a cause-effect relationship with contemporary problems. 4. Explain the characteristics of semi-independent states established by Muslim Turks. 5. The student taking the course explains the Islamization process of the Turks, their contributions to the Islamic culture-civilization, and analyzes and synthesizes the Turkish-Islamic history. 6. Evaluates the place and importance of Turkish-Islamic states established in Iran, India, Central Asia and Eastern Europe in history. 7. Explains and evaluates the characteristics of Turkish-Islamic states established in Anatolia and the Balkans, their place in history and their effects on today. 8. Explains the place and importance of Karakhanids, Ghaznavids and Seljuks in Islamic history. |
