Objectives of the Course
To make the students acquire; 1. an in-dept knowledge about the characteristics, philosophy and the methods of Extension and communication (E&C), 2. a positive attitude towards the functions and importance of E&C, 3. talent to use in professional life the techniques of E&C.

1After they complete the requirements of the course, the students will be able to; 1. perceive the mission and the essence of Agricultural Extension (AE) activities and their relationships with other matters,
22. know what Agricultural Extension methods there are, make situation analysis to find out which methods are used in which conditions and use these methods properly,
33. know what communication techniques there are, their role and importance in A.E and in personal improvement and use these techniques in AE activities,
44. comprehend the theory and the process of the Project Cycle Management, summarize the content in their own words and make a proper presentation to others,
5analyze the information related to AE&CT and others disciplines and Synthesize them in a comprehensive way and prepare AE and Rural Development (RD) Projects and implement them.
66. make situation analysis, periodic evaluations, final evaluation and impact analysis related to AE &RD projects.

1- The definition, characteristics and the importance of EA. 2- The Objectives in AE. General Objectives, Project Objectives and Activity Objectives 3- Strategy in AE&RD AE Systems, Approaches and Methods 4- The definition of education, educational programs and objectives 5- Means and methods of Instruction, monitoring and evaluation in education 6- The nature of man; individual differences, adoption of innovations, the concept of need 7- Individual, group and mass Agricultural Extension methods. 8- Discussion methods: forum, symposium, panel 9- Mass media 10- Project Cycle in Agricultural Extension 11- Communication 12- Body Language 13- Motivation 14- Conflict Management

1Students will be able to make a description of agriculture, agricultural production and agricultural products and list their characteristics,
2explain, at elementary level, the theoretical and practical aspects of agricultural production techniques,
3describe the basic concepts related to Agricultural Management and Agricultural Policy,
4describe basic concepts and theories in Economics,
5establish the link between Agriculture and Economics,
6describe a problem within the field of Agricultural Economics,
7establish the relationship between economical theories and the principles of Agricultural Economics,

9make use of computer software as required by the problems at hand,
10interpret the results of analyses and use them in solving a problem,
11conduct a study independently to solve a problem at hand in the field of Agricultural Economics,
12take responsibility in solving the problems related to Agricultural Economics either alone or in group,
13improve himself by keeping in touch with the developments in the field of Agricultural Economics and determine the educational needs stemming from the changing conditions,
