Objectives of the Course
To train nurses who have the skills to integrate the basic knowledge and principles acquired during the education with the roles and functions related to child health and disease and to apply them to the healthy/sick child and his family at every stage of the health care system.

Course Contents
1 Introduction to Child Health and Diseases Nursing. The state of child health in the world and in Turkey. 2 Normal growth-development by age periods. Growth-development disorders 3 Evaluation of child health, diagnosis, follow-up of healthy children, scans 4 Common pediatric applications. Pharmaceutical applications 5 Immunization. Nutrition in children 6 Neonatal definition, classification and nursing care. At-risk newborn and nursing care. Neonatal and nursing care with congenital defects. Child with genetic and metabolic problems 7 Liquid electrolyte balance. Nursing care in fluid electrolyte imbalances. Child and nursing care with heart problems. Child and nursing care with GIS problems 8 Nursing Process. Pediatric care practices. Child and nursing care with urinary system problems 9 Child and nursing care with respiratory system problems. Child and nursing care with endocrine system problems 10 Child and nursing care with neurological system problems 11 Child and nursing care with hematological system problems 12 Child and nursing care with oncological problems 13 Childhood mental problems 14 Common childhood accidents, injuries and first aid
