| Objectives of the Course |
| In line with the basic health services understanding of the Surgical Diseases Nursing course, the basic principles of surgery, the diseases of the systems that require surgical intervention and nursing care, the current and necessary updated and social needs of the individual in order to regain and maintain the health of the patient before, during and after the operation. It aims to provide knowledge and practice skills about evidence-based nursing care. |

| In the practice course, students are evaluated every week with case presentations, student professional skill evaluation forms, concept maps and surgical diseases nursing practice evaluation forms prepared in line with the nursing process. |
| Course Contents |
| The course covers surgical infections and infection control, wound healing and nursing care in burns, nursing care in shock and multiple organ failure syndrome, pre-, intra- and post-operative care, ERAS and Fast Track Protocols, nervous system surgery, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery Interventions include nursing care in urinary system surgery, digestive system and digestive organs surgery, breast and endocrine system surgery, musculoskeletal system surgery, ear-nose-throat and eye surgery. |
