Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide the student with knowledge and skills about the basic concepts, principles and methods of care for healthy/sick individuals.

1Applies asepsis methods in nursing practice.
2It measures vital signs. Explains fluid-electrolyte balance.
3Explain the care of the patient with pain. Explains hot-cold applications.
4Explain the hygiene requirements of the individual. Applies the hygiene requirements of the individual.
5Explains and applies basic nursing skills related to systems
6Explains the points to be considered in sleep.
7Explains the principles of blood transfusion practice. Explain the points to be considered in oral, parenteral and local drug applications. Applies oral, parenteral and locally given drugs.
8Explains and does the physical examination of a healthy/sick individual.
9Relates the nursing process with the care of the healthy/sick individual. Explains the care of an individual whose death is approaching.

The prerequisite for taking the Nursing Fundamentals II course is to be successful in the Nursing Fundamentals I course or not to fail unattended.

Course Contents
This course; maintenance of fluid-electrolyte balance, asepsis-infection control, need for movement, patient admission and discharge, respiratory requirement, pain, vital signs, individual hygiene requirement, sleep and rest, hot and cold applications, drug applications (general information, SC, ID, Includes IM, blood collection, IV catheterization, oral, local medication), blood transfusion, physical examination, urinary system, digestive system, nursing process, loss and death.
