Objectives of the Course
This course explains the historical change of mass communication and mass communication theories, and the relationship of this change with economic, political, social, political, cultural and technological variables. Examining different theoretical orientations with their intellectual foundations, the course embodies the theoretical bodies with various research sections. By comparing different theories with each other, the relationship between mass communication and society is tried to be explained as multi-layered.

Course Contents
Defines the communication tools and functions that emerged with the modern society. Theories and approaches developed in this direction are discussed by comparing the mainstream and critical orientations, based on a political-historical-economic-social background.
