Objectives of the Course
Students are expected to become familiar with the specific literary theories and criticism and be able to analyze literature and various literary genres and writings with regard to the related theories and criticism.

Prerequisites and co-requisities
In advance of this course, students must take Literary Terms and Movements (2nd class course) and pass it so that they can understand the content and the scope of the course and be able to situate it in literary education.
Recommended Optional Programme Components
The participants are expected to have obtained A Glossary of Literary Terms (Seventh Edition, by M. H. Abrams Cornell University), The Routledge Dictionary of Literary Terms (Third Edition, by Peter Childs, Roger Fowler), A History of Literary Criticism From Plato to the Present (by M. A. R. Habib, 2005) scrutinize particularly the first and the third books, the related subject matter of which are given below.
