Objectives of the Course |
The course will introduce students to the 16th century. It aims to help them recognize the general characteristics of English Literature, understand the works of this period, and compare the similar and different features in these works. |

The participants are expected to have obtained The Oxford Companion to English Literature (Sixth Edition, by Michael Dobson, Stanley Wells, Oxford University Press, 2000), A Companion To English Renaissance Literature and Culture (by Michael Hattaway, Blackwell Publishers Ltd, 2003) and scrutinize the two books. |

The course will cover the scope of 16th Century English Literature, cultural features of the age, prominent figures and works of the period and the content, themes and the arguments of these works. |
