To get to know the Old Turkish, the first period of Turkish that is determined by writing, with the alphabets, texts and language features used.

1 Comprehend the term of Old Turkish and the scope of the term. Be aware of the historical, political and cultural environment that forms the Orhon Turkish written language. Recognize the alphabet used in Orkhon Turkish period. Recognizes written products written in Orkhon Turkish written language, knows the properties. Learns the discovery of Orkhon Turkish texts and studies on the texts. Comprehend the features of Orhon Turkish written language. Gains knowledge of Orkhon Turkish written products. Compare the features of Orkhon Turkish with other periods and fields.

Course Contents
Old Turkish, Orkhon Turkish (Köktürk), general characteristics of the period, I. and II. Eastern Turk (Köktürk) Khaganate (The period he ruled, geography, the political and administrative structure of the state, the communities and belief system forming the khanate), the discovery of the Orkhon inscriptions and studies on the inscriptions, a general overview of Old Turkish studies, resources on Old Turkish and Orkhon Turkish in general. , Orkhon Turkish (Köktürk) texts, the alphabet used in writing, opinions on the origin of the alphabet, the sound, form, vocabulary and syntax features of Orkhon Turkish based on the lines on the south face of the Kültigin inscription, the sound, form, vocabulary of Orhon Turkish based on the lines in the Tunyukuk inscription and syntax features, sound, form, vocabulary and syntax features of Orkhon Turkish based on the lines in the Çoyr and Kül İç Çor inscriptions.
