Description of Individual Course UnitsCourse Unit Code | Course Unit Title | Type of Course Unit | Year of Study | Semester | Number of ECTS Credits | 180104005100 | MACHINE ELEMENTS - I | Compulsory | 3 | 5 | 5 |
| Level of Course Unit | First Cycle | Objectives of the Course | Machines are made up of some elements. The elements that make up the machines are called "Machine Elements". For any system to be a Machine Element; It is necessary to fulfill a certain function, to have its own calculation and shaping principles without being dependent on another system. In this course, these calculations for different states and elements will be learned. | Name of Lecturer(s) | Prof. Dr. Halil Rıdvan Öz | Learning Outcomes | 1 | Will be able to distinguish and use the unit systems used in machine science.
To have knowledge about the selection of machine elements.
To learn the design criteria of machine elements | 2 | Will be able to comprehend and calculate foundation stresses. | 3 | Will be able to explain the technical and strength properties of removable joints such as bolts, wedges and pins. | 4 | Know the technical features of rivets and will be able to calculate strength. | 5 | Will be able to make shaft design and shaft calculations and dimension. | 6 | Will be able to explain the technical and strength properties of elastic fasteners (springs). | 7 | Will be able to select the appropriate bearing, oil type and lubrication method. |
