Definition of ecology and its development as a science, System, model and limiting basic concepts, Structure and functions of the ecosystem, Energy flow and chemical substance cycles in the ecosystem, Agricultural ecosystems, The properties of light and temperature and its effect on plants, The characteristics of the atmosphere and its agricultural importance, air movements , Water and the effects of different states of water on plants, Soil and soil properties, Biological factors, traditional and alternative farming systems, environmental problems caused by agriculture, sustainability.
