Course Contents
Summary information about cement, water, aggregate, concrete, mixture, maintenance, additives. Mechanical properties of concrete and reinforcing steel. properties, concrete and steel classes. Shrinkage, creep effect. Reinforced concrete behavior, bearing strength assumptions. Structure security. Reinforced concrete columns and column types, importance of wrapping reinforcement. Reinforced concrete beams, beam types. Simple behavior of beams under bending effect, determination of bearing strength, sizing, minimum conditions (Turkish Standards). Shear strength and reinforcement. Axial pressure and biaxial bending columns, minimum conditions, sizing.
