Objectives of the Course
It is aimed to define the types of transport used in logistics, to teach the characteristics and differences of transport types.

Learning Outcomes
1Defines / explains the basic concepts related to logistics functions and transportation types. List the stages of transportation processes. Explain the importance of transportation activities in logistics processes.
2It manages and tracks transportation activities. Recognize the transportation systems used in logistics activities and distinguish their features. Gains knowledge of selection, management and optimization of transportation business. Recognize the resources (vehicle, equipment, human, facility etc.) that make up the transportation systems.
3It realizes the effective and efficient management of transportation activities in line with the aims and responsibilities of the logistics business.
4Develops solution suggestions for the problems encountered during the execution of the transport function.
5Provides support for customer relationship management. Follows up-to-date developments and practices regarding transportation types in businesses.

Course Contents
Definitions and information regarding the types of transportation used in logistics activities (road, airway, seaway, railroad, pipeline) are examined separately for each type of transportation, and their characteristics, differences from each other and areas of preference constitute the subject of this course.
