Objectives of the Course |
To give general information about the history of Islamic civilization and the structure of institutions that emerged in the process, to examine its relations with other civilizations, especially with Western civilization. |

1 | 1. To be able to evaluate the characteristics of the Islamic civilization among the world civilizations; 2. To be able to analyze the basic features of pre-Islamic cultures and civilizations; 3. To be able to comprehend the effects of pre-Islamic cultures and civilizations on Islamic civilization; 4. To be able to explain the foundations and characteristics of Islamic civilization; 5. To be able to comprehend the point reached by the Islamic civilization during the Abbasid period and the role of the Andalusian Umayyads, which made itself felt especially in Europe; 6. To be able to evaluate the contributions of the Turks to the Islamic civilization and what kind of changes this civilization caused in their culture; 7. To be able to think about the effects of Islamic civilization on the West; 8. Being able to comment on important scientists who grew up in Islamic civilization and their contributions to world civilization; 9. To be able to evaluate about the caliphate and state administration, education, foundation and legal institutions in the Islamic civilization; 10. To be able to evaluate the economic and military institutions and urbanization in Islamic civilization; |
