Learning Outcomes
1This lecture has been designed to help students identify some important weeds found in crop fields and pastures which are potentially poisonous to humans and livestocks. It provides some basic information about signs/symptoms caused by poisonous weeds for students. Because symptoms may vary greatly depending on the quan-tity of plants eaten and the time taken to eat the plants. The toxicity of a plant may also change during the growing season. In addition, different animals or species may respond differently to the toxins. Being able to identify the plants that are growing in fields and pastures, and in particular the poisonous species, is a necessary skill that all agricultural engineers should learn. Students who learned poisonous weed control methods in field crops and pastures, as an agricultural engineer will be able to design weed control program in crops and pastures based on the type of crop and poisonous weeds.
