Course Contents
Fundamental principles of remote sensing, properties of digital satellite data (IKONOS, ASTER, SPOT, NOAA and LANDSAT), the selection of satellite data for agricultural application, use of global position systems (GPS) to remote sensing applications, spectral reflection characteristics of soils and certain crops, suitable methodology and image classification methods, calibration on field measurements, applications of satellite data for land utilization and area estimation., naked eye interpretation, plant pattern, mapping of land use, yield estimation of crops, erosion, salinity, drainage.
