Learning Outcomes
1• Understand the basic principles of optics and the interaction between matter and light.
2• Knows the optical properties of biomolecules.
3• Knows the optical properties of important cofactors.
4• Can use basic fluorescence techniques to determine ligand receptor relationships, molecular weight determination, enzyme function and kinetics, enzyme inhibition, activation and regulation.

Course Contents
It aims to explain the basic optical principles, the optical properties of biomolecules and the principles of basic fluorescence techniques, and the applications of basic fluorescence techniques used to detect biomolecules.
