Improve the ability to understand the conceptual and theoretical knowledge related to the Cost-Benefit Analysis as a project evaluation techniques, explanation of the application of social cost-benefit analysis in the evaluation of investment projects of public and private sector

1To be able to understand the basic concepts of Project Appraisal and Cost-Benefit Analysis and to distinguish the relationship between plan, project and investment;
2To be able to explain and to use of the preparatory work of investment projects and the project evaluation criterias;
3To explain the role of Cost-Benefit Analysis as a way of decision-making technique in the public sector;
4To be able to distinguish the determination and measurement of the costs and benefits in the Social Benefit-Cost Analysis and the use of national analysis criteria and application;
5To be able to evaluate the application of Cost-Benefit Analysis as a project evaluation techniques in Turkey;
6Determination of Costs and Benefits, and Externalities;

Course Contents
Introduction to FM analysis, principles of investment applications, special FM analysis: financial analysis, efficiency in FM analysis, net benefit calculation for reference groups, consumer and producer surplus in FM analysis, valuation of traded and non-traded products in FM analysis, consideration of risk in FM analysis, social discount rate, cost of public goods and information value, valuation of goods without market, preparation of FM analysis report will be explained.
