Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to comprehend basic knowledge about seed, to adopt similarities and differences between organic seed and seed, to explain the structure, formation, germination, ecology and formal seed program of seed, to be able to plan and plan the stages from seed production to harvest again in accordance with the rules of organic farming.

Course Contents
Master and Ph.D. students who have successfully completed this course will have the following qualifications; 1) To explain the basic concepts of seed production 2) To be able to compare organic seed production with conventional seed production 3) To be able to apply seed production techniques in accordance with organic farming rules 4) Organic seed harvesting, separation, drying, cleaning, disinfection, packaging, storage and quality control techniques to comprehend the stages 5) To be able to plan and apply the techniques related to these stages

5Environmental factors in seed production (temperature, humidity, wind, soil, light)
6Seed production stages.
7Cultural operations in seed parcels
8Organic seed harvesting criteria according to plant species, harvesting methods, tools and equipment used, issues to be considered
9Organic seed separation methods depending on the species, occurring during the work-harvest seed looks
10What is seed drying? Drying temperature, drying time, drying methods
11Why seed cleaning, organic seed cleaning stages, methods used
12Packaging of organic seeds, issues to be considered, packaging materials, materials properties, advantages-disadvantages
13Construction of seed storage, control of storage conditions, points to be considered in the use of storage
14Quality control, viability and strength tests of seeds
