Definition of insurance; evolution of insurance; classification of insurance types; characteristics of agricultural activities with regard to agricultural insurance; risks and uncertainties in agriculture; risk management tools in agriculture; risk management in rural development; role of agricultural insurance in transfer of risk in agriculture; definition, scope and types of agricultural insurance; evolution of agricultural insurance; agricultural insurance in different countries; agricultural insurance legislation in Turkey and developments in the institutional structure; agricultural insurance types supported by the government; management of agricultural insurances; area based index insurances; insurance accounting: risk analysis, insurance rate, calculation of insurance premium, loss ratio, indemnities, insurance policies; loss theory, organization and methods of loss assessment; calculation of indemnity; case studies.

5Farmers risk behaviors: modeling of risk behaviors, reverse selection and moral hazard, risk transfer, Insurance applications in agriculture (evaluation of insurance practices in European Union, USA, Canada, Japan and Asia),
6Legislation on agricultural insurance and developments in the institutional structure: Turkish Commercial Code, Law No. 5363 on Agricultural Insurance, 2005 Law on Insurance Companies, regulations, herbal products, greenhouse, animal life and clustering life Agricultural Insurance Pool with the general conditions of life and transport insurance, Agricultural Insurance Pool Company (TARSİM) Inc., insurance companies, cooperatives, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Undersecretariat of Treasury General Directorate of Insurance, Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, agents, brokers, agricultural insurance products and damage assessors
