Objectives of the Course
At the end of this course, the students will learn the basic concepts and approaches of rural development and acquire the skills to analyse rural development studies and projects and they will become as experienced as to be able to work in the rural development studies that are going to be conducted in the following years and that are being conducted.

1.Rural development and basic concepts as well as the relationships between rural development and other fields of science, 2. Definition of rural area and basic characteristics of rural areas in Turkey and in some countries, 3. Basic study areas and objectives in rural development practices, 4. Purposes and instruments of rural development studies and the methods applied, 5. Basic characteristics of rural development policies and practices, 6. Rural development policies and changes in policies in the EU, 7. Changes experienced in rural development policies in the world, 8. Evaluation of policies, practices and outcomes of Rural development in Turkey, 9. Evaluation of the outcomes of rural development projects that were implemented and are being implemented in Turkey, 10.Potential determination and inventory studies in rural development, 11. Techniques of problem analysis, determination of priorities, risk analysis and solution approaches in rural development studies, 12. The National Rural Development Strategy-Turkey
