Objectives of the Course |
The main objective of the course is to introduce economic, social, political dimensions and consequences of urbanization and environmental management, how urbanization and environmental management developed in Turkey and the legislation on environmental and urban issues. |

This course includes topics such as Urban Concept (Definition of the city in terms of different disciplines, Urban Theory, feodal city-industrializing urban-industrial city), The Concept of urbanization (urbanization Conceptual Definition, Causes of urbanization, the urbanization Dimensions), World Urbanization Processes (19th century cities , cities after World War 2, cities in the process of globalization), Urban Policy (Urban Conservation, Urban Sustainability, Urban Regeneration and Renewal Policies), the process of urbanization in Turkey (Trigger Causes, Urban Policy, Urban Planning Processes), Concept of City Planning in Turkey (Planning Definition, Development Plans), the Turkish Zoning Regulations, Urbanization and Planning Issues, Housing Concept (Definition and Types of dwelling), Housing Policy (Turkey Housing Policy, Housing Production Process, Actors, Housing Development Policies), Housing and Related Legislation |
