Objectives of the Course
The goal for this course is to introduce to student the fundamental concepts associated with the operation and programming of programming Logic Controllers (PLC). Also to provide students with the skills to write control programs for a large number of automation control applications.

1After learning PLC programming, students will be able to design control and automation systems
2Using PLC and the other automation devices, the students will be able to use up-to-date technological tools and possibilities adaptively.

5The students will be able to improve their research, presentation and discussion skills.

Course Contents
Identification and Interfacing from standard automation control input and output devices to PLC input and output modules, Converting data between the following number systems: binary, octal, decimal, BCD and hexadecimal, Writing automation control programs using instructions from the following categories: Inputs, outputs, timers, counters, and data addressing modes.
