This course aims to provide theoretical background to analyze the place and functions of modern state in a developed or developing capitalist economy.

1To evaluate the state as a social institution, with its historical, economic, political and juridical dimensions.
2To use microeconomic and macroeconomic theories and concepts to explain the activities of state and relationships between the individual and the state

5To evaluate the importance of the social problems related to education, health and environment in an economy
6To understand more easily the news related to public expenditures and taxes in daily newspapers and media
