Course Contents |
1. Describe the role and functions of bank and non-bank financial institutions in modern capitalist economies.
2. The historical development of banking, the organizational structure of banks, and the effects of regulations for the banking and financial sector on the functioning of the sector.
3. Banking activities, the risks encountered in banking and the management of these risks, and how banks influence competition between each other and non-bank financial institutions.
4. Risk measurement and management of banks, analysis in the context of profitability and growth, understanding the balance between risk, liquidity and profitability in banking.
5. Examination of major trends in the banking sector at national and global scale.
