Objectives of the Course

To equip students with knowledge, skills and competence about the science of fiqh, its sources, methods of jurisprudence, deduction of rulings from sources and legal reasoning (ijtihad).

Learning Outcomes

1	The sciences of fiqh and its methodologies are recognised.
2	The historical development of the science of jurisprudence, its methods and its relationship with other disciplines are explained.
3	The deduction methods of schools of law and the reasons of dissidence are compared.
4	The congruity of classical and contemporary legal opinions with the fundamental sources of Islamic law are evaluated.
