Objectives of the Course
Presentation of general knowledges related to basics of biochemistry, various biochemical reactions carried out in living organisms, cellular biosenthesis and catabolism of some nutrients, molecular basics and control of physiological functions of organism.

Definition of biochemistry, interests and relation to other disciplines 2- Study of cell and its componenets 3- Biochemical reactions carried out in cell and organels 4- Nucleic acids and their role on biochemical reactions. 5- Chemistry of some important of biological materials: water and its dissociation 6- pH, acid-base concept and buffer systems 7- Proteins: characteriation, classification and evaluation in the body 8- Classification of amino acids in chemical, nutritional and metabolic. Biosenthesis and catabolism: Transamination, deamination and decarboxylation of amino acids. 9- Enzyms: defination, chemistry, characterization, classification, importance in biochemical reactions and operation of principles. 10- Chemistry of carbohydrates, classification, metabolic pathways, biosenthesis and catabolik reactions 11- Chemistry of lipids, classification, metabolic pathways, biosenthesis and catabolik reactions 12- Chemistry and importance of fatty acids, classification, biosenthesis and catabolik reactions 13- Bioenergetics: glicolytic pathway, TCA cycle and ATP formation in the cell 14- Vitamins: Role of vitamin acting coenzyme in the body, and their requirements, dietary sources, absorptions and deficiency symptoms. 15- Minerals: Role of minerals acting cofactor in the body, and their requirements, dietary sources, absorptions and deficiency symptoms
