Objectives of the Course
Students who take this course should have knowledge and understanding about new technologies and forms of communication, gain the ability to critically examine the political, cultural and social dynamics of communication and information technologies in today's societies, that the new media environment is possible in today's societies from social, political, economic and cultural aspects. They are expected to examine the effects and consequences.

1To examine the effect of developing technology on social, cultural and economic relations, to remember different research methods used in communication research.
2To have the ability to critically evaluate the debates on convergence, communication and the impact of digitization on daily life.
3Develop the ability to think and express oneself in writing about key debates about new media
4To have the ability to distinguish the similarities and differences between mass communication theories and new media theories and to measure the effect of these approaches on understanding new media.

Course Contents
This course deals with the social, political, technological and economic dynamics of the new media environment and examines how these dynamics are reshaped by processes such as convergence and digitization. It deals with the transformation of internet governance, surveillance, globalization, participatory politics, identity formation, innovation and daily life practices in today's societies with new media.
