Objectives of the Course
Career Planning course enables students to get acquainted with the business world, different sectors and the requirements of these sectors; It aims to raise awareness in students about the importance of career planning in the preparation process for the business world. The course enables students to discover their personal competencies and to understand the expectations of the business world; helps them to develop their knowledge and skills in line with the requirements of the relevant sectors.

1Recognition of Career Center Activities: Making the student aware of the services offered by the Career Center and establishing a link between the Career Center and the student.
2Increasing Self-Awareness: Ensuring that the student realizes his/her strengths and openness to development and recognizes himself/herself in terms of his/her interests, competencies and skills.
3Exploring Career Options: Enabling students to get to know sectors such as the public sector, private sector, academia, non-governmental organizations, comprehend the differences between sectors, and turn to a career field suitable for their future plans. Gaining awareness of students about the expectations of the business world and the competencies they prioritize.
4Developing Self-Expression and Effective Communication Skills: Increasing awareness about the importance of developing fine skills in the career process. Comprehending the importance of issues affecting communication such as body language, diction, and address; development of accurate and effective communication skills.
5Understanding the Importance of Professional Relationship Networks: Understanding the importance of establishing mutually beneficial relationships that are necessary for the student to reach their career goals.
6Recognition of Support Units: Providing information on university units (international relations / exchange office, etc.) that can support the career of the student, and support services such as TUBITAK Scholarships, Mevlana program.
7Learning Effective Resource Usage: Learning ways to reach the right resources and use resources effectively in the career process.
8Improving the quality and efficiency of the Career Centers' services.

Course Contents
Courses will be organized for first year university students in the fall semester, for 14 weeks, with one class hour per week. The courses, in accordance with the topics and course contents; It should be processed by university lecturers, industry professionals and guest educators who will be invited from other universities and non-governmental organizations. The supporting activities to be included in the course should be designed to inform students about the methods and tools used in professional applications and to gain the ability to use them in the most effective way, and should be supported by practical assignments. Career centers should support the course in practice with activities that provide experience opportunities that will support students to develop their skills. 1Course Introduction Explaining the purpose and scope of the course, introducing the career center services and how to benefit from them. 3National and International Exchange Programs Informing the students about the exchange and educational scholarship programs that will support their undergraduate education by the authorities of the relevant institutions/university units. Guest educators from relevant institutions/university units Organizing a panel/workshop with the participation of officials from relevant institutions for the direct promotion of programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana to students. After students' participation in these programs, they are asked to provide a feedback report for the programs they are interested in and want to participate in.
4Basic Communication Skills Explaining the importance and general rules of networking and the use of social media. Raising awareness of students on basic issues such as self-introduction, official correspondence rules, addressing. Giving the creation of an Online Career Platform profile as a project.
5Sector Days - Non-Governmental Organizations Organizing a panel with the participation of managers who can provide information about the expectations of non-governmental organizations from new graduates and career opportunities in these sectors. In order to motivate and encourage the students, it is suggested that inspiring people who have graduated from the university where the panel is organized and who have been successful in the sector participate in the said panel. 6Soft-Skills Explaining Soft-Skills and their effects on success. Sample videos and movie recommendations. Students are asked to self-evaluate, and in this context, they are expected to explain which sector is suitable for them and why.
7Sector Days - Public Sector Organizing a panel with the participation of managers who can provide information about the expectations of the public sector from new graduates in today's conditions and career opportunities in the public sector (the participation of different institutions that provide intense employment from different fields such as finance, engineering, social sciences, etc. should be encouraged). In order to motivate and encourage the students, it is suggested that inspiring people who have graduated from the university where the panel is organized and who have been successful in the public sector participate in the said panel. 10Sector Days - Private Sector From the private sector; service, finance, production, etc. Organizing panels with the participation of managers who can provide information about the expectations of new graduates from different fields in today's conditions and career opportunities in these sectors. In order to motivate and encourage the students, it is suggested that inspiring people who have graduated from the university where the panel is organized and who have been successful in the private sector participate in the said panel. 11Effective Interview Techniques Implementation of practices aimed at improving students' ability to express themselves correctly with interview samples and rehearsals, and ensuring that students gain effective communication experience. 12Sector Days - Academy Organizing panels with the participation of academicians in order to raise awareness of students who are considering an academic career in different disciplines and to convey their requirements in today's conditions. In order to motivate and encourage the students, it is suggested that inspiring people who graduated from the university where the panel was held and who have achieved success in the academic field should participate in the said panel. Faculty members from different faculties and guest educators from related institutions receive TUBITAK Scholarships, MEB 1416 Foreign Education Scholarship, etc. organizing information seminars to which the supporting institutions will participate and encouraging the participation of students.
13Sector Days - Entrepreneurship Organizing a panel with the participation of managers who can give information about the nature of start-up / entrepreneurship, career opportunities in today's conditions. In order to motivate and encourage the students, it is suggested that inspiring people who have graduated from the university where the panel is organized and who have been successful in the field of entrepreneurship participate in the said panel.
