Objectives of the Course
Islamic History of Science is a discipline that examines the scientific products that Islamic civilization yielded in the field of positive sciences. It aims to bring out not only the philosophical and theoretical accumulation but also the scientific corpus of Islamic civilization. Even though the boundaries and scope of Islamic History of Science have not yet been determined, generally speaking, it has among its subjects such issues as a) the critical examination of the works of the Muslim scientists, their discoveries and inventions in positive sciences, and philosophical roots of their scientific views; b) analysis of the scientific methods that they used; and c) evaluation of their scientific explanations and references.
